The Azlanti Turkey

In honor of our great U.S. traditional holiday dedicated to feasting and friendship, for this Thanksgiving, I present to you The Azlanti Turkey. Did I mention I am also running Paizo’s Rise of the Runelords campaign? This magnificent creature is a suitable addition for any adventure. It is naturally non-aggressive, and thus can provide a suitable challenge for adventurers of all levels. Although, it is unlikely low level parties will be able to muster the skill required to capture one, its unique bounty can provide suitable motivation for exotic hunts or even the added bit of levity and complexity for higher level encounters.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Flurry of Pecks (Ex) When cornered, an Azlanti turkey will unleash a flurry of pecks as a full-round action. The attack is similar to a monk’s flurry of blows.
Greater Magic Beak (Ex) The original Azlanti turkeys were genetically engineered to have permanent greater magic fang (CL20) upon their beaks affording them the ability to reach even the most exceptionally concealed grubs. The turkey’s beak, therefore, can also overcome most types of DR, including alignment-based. The effect has persisted generation to generation. It can, however, be suppressed for 24 hours with a successful CL20 dispel.
Mesmerizing Gobble (Sp) If pursued by aggressors, an Azlanti turkey will attempt to transfix its opponents to aid in its flight. Once per day, as a standard action, the turkey may begin to gobble in an attempt to charm its foes with a DC25 Will save. This effect acts like a 20th level mass charm monster with a 30’ radius. The turkey may continue the gobble as a move action every round. Those who fail the save suddenly look upon the turkey with benevolence and cease from all hostile actions against it for 2 hours after it leaves the radius of effect. Furthermore, the creature will attempt to persuade any others to a similar course of action. The form of persuasion takes the form of verbal communication or somatic gesturing only. A successful save negates the effect of gobble for 24 hours. This is an charm, enchantment, mind-effecting effect, sonic effect.
Mouth-Watering Aroma (Ex) The Azlanti turkey was bred to be exceptionally tasty. Though normal turkeys are not known to exude any pleasant odors, this variety secretes a magically and alchemically enhanced smell that reminds most folk of the tastiest meal they have ever known. Any creature, who naturally relies upon sustenance to survive, must make a DC25 Will save or suffer a -2 circumstance penalty to AC, attacks, saves and perception against all other creatures except for the Azlanti turkey itself. This effect persists for as long as the creature remains within the aura of the turkey.
Naturally Adaptable (Ex) The Azlanti turkey has a unique ability to acclimate rapidly to all environments, a characteristic specifically engineered by those who saw the need for raising the foul in some of the harsher climates of the ancient world. Therefore, within 1d6 hours of entering into a hostile location, the turkey is capable of adapting to all harmful environmental effects. Such effects include the mudane temperatures, to atmospheric differences, to even some of the more harsh alignment or elemental climes. Legend holds that turkeys have been found throughout the planes. Any specific turkey will exhibit resistances accordingly.
Naturally Non-Aggressive (Ex) An Azlanti turkey never attacks first. On its first turn, it will withdraw. If pursued, it will defend itself taking full advantage of its combat reflexes and spring attack. It will only use its Flurry of Pecks, when it feels cornered. Once it drops below 70 hit points, it will attempt to flee. An Azlanti turkey will never peck someone who is down (i.e. unconscious).

TREASURE
Feast of the Azlanti Turkey
Slot none; Minor Artifact
Aura strong conjuration; CL 20th; Weight
If prepared correctly, the Feast of the Azlanti Turkey confers upon up to 8 participants the effects of an enhanced heroes’ feast. To prepare the turkey, requires a successful survival check of DC25. If the check is unsuccessful, the turkey is unable to confer any magical benefits, though it remains a tasty meal. If properly prepared, the feast can remain preserved for up to 2 weeks.
Properly partaking of the feast requires 2 hours of time, a good bottle of wine, two appropriate side-dishes, and pie. Once consumed, at the end of the feasting hour, every creature partaking of the feast must immediately nap for an additional hour. While napping all creatures are considered under the effects of mythic deep slumber and slow spells for that hour.
At the end of the nap, a creature who partook of the Azlanti Turkey is cured of all sickness and nausea, receives the benefits of neutralize poison and remove disease, and gains 2d8 + 20 temporary hit points. Furthermore each creature that partook gains a +2 morale bonus on attack rolls and will saves and a +8 bonus on saving throws against poison and fear effects for 24 hours.
If either the feast or the nap is interrupted for any reason, the Azlanti Turkey is ruined and the effects are negated. Using the Azlanti Turkey for a feast consumes the item.
Destruction
Dropping the Feast of the Azlanti Turkey into a runewell, minor or greater, destroys the item permanently.

Wishbone of the Azlanti Turkey
Slot none; Minor Artifact
Aura strong universal; CL 20th; Weight
The Wishbone of the Azlanti Turkey appears to be a regular wishbone, except that upon close inspection a single, tiny sihedron rune can be seen upon it somewhere. This wishbone acts as a +1 luck bonus to all saves. However, as a standard action it may be broken to trigger a wish. Once broken, the wishbone is useless.
Destruction
Dropping the Wishbone of the Azlanti Turkey into a runewell, minor or greater, destroys the item permanently.
